ABOUT ME

secondme2.jpg

For many years I have been engaged in initiatives centered around diversity and inclusion. As those familiar with this aspect of business or society are aware, our efforts are focused on helping people grasp the essence of diversity and utilize it effectively to enhance both business practices and personal life.

Recently, my interest in my family's genealogy grew. As I delved deeper into my research, I discovered the rich diversity within my family background: Mexican, Native American Indian, European, African, and a lineage of military veterans from the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Our family's story is like a captivating book cover that hides a treasury of fascinating tales and chapters.

As I continued my research, I realized that my son's background is even more diverse due to his mother's heritage. This prompted me to engage him in discussions to understand a millennial's perspective on current events. It also led me to ponder how our family genealogy shapes our perception of diversity.

I will share my reflections on historical, current, and future diversity and genealogy issues to foster engaging discussions on diversity and genealogy. Additionally, I'll share stories and images from my heritage. Please be aware that the language and perspectives used in early 20th and 19th-century newspapers and discourse may not align with contemporary standards of political correctness. These historical sources reflect the norms and attitudes of their time, which may range from offensive to humorous or simply surprising - Oh my!

Join me on a fantastic voyage to explore and understand "The Diversity In Me!"
